Bodie Island Lighthouse

Bodie Island Lighthouse

It doesn't have to be summer to visit the Outer Banks! The winter season brings memorable views of Outer Banks favorites such as Bodie Island Lighthouse. This clip was taken last week on the short nature trail located "behind" the lighthouse (from the parking lot--walk behind the lighthouse to the left hand corner and you will see the path).

The path gives a glimpse of the beautiful natural surroundings that the Outer Banks is famous for. Normally you'll see several types of birds, and sometimes while visiting the lighthouse you might see fox or deer zipping by. This 156 foot tall lighthouse is majestic any time of the year when visited.

So don't let the winter blahs keep you down. You can always find something to uplift your spirit on the Outer Banks--whether it's catching rockfish or viewing the natural beauty of the beach--we will rid you of your cabin fever! Just take a look at all of our specials on obxlodging.com to help jump start your getaway!
